AKI.IO is operated by AKI.IO GmbH, a German company based in Berlin. The shareholder list filed with the Charlottenburg local court (HRB 281336 B, as of 9 February 2026) accounts for the entire share capital: one German GmbH holding 20 per cent and five natural persons resident in Berlin holding 80 per cent between them. No shareholder is based or resident outside the EU. The sole sub-processor, AIME GmbH of Berlin, is itself a 20 per cent shareholder in AKI.IO, so the processing chain stays within Germany at the ownership level as well.

AKI.IO commits to availability contractually. The service level agreement forms part of the reseller framework agreement and provides for service credits if the target is missed, so this is a contractual remedy rather than a best-effort statement. Credits are calculated from the fee attributable to the downtime and are the exclusive remedy; support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. The publicly available terms of use follow the statutory liability model and contain no monetary cap: AKI.IO is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for slightly negligent breaches of essential contractual duties up to the foreseeable damage typical of the contract. Neither a fixed ceiling nor a multiple of fees paid is agreed.
